Stand With Crypto endorses 32 House incumbents as midterms near

Stand With Crypto, the advocacy arm Coinbase launched in 2023, endorsed 32 candidates for US House seats on Monday. The group says it wants to elect what it calls the most pro-crypto Congress in history.

The endorsements land roughly two months before the November general election. SWC said it backed politicians it considers proven digital asset policy champions. It is targeting competitive races “where Stand With Crypto advocate numbers are most likely to influence outcomes.”

The scale-up is notable. In March, SWC named its first six endorsements. Three Republicans, three Democrats. All six advanced from their primaries and will compete in November. The new batch of 32 expands that slate substantially. The announcement did not detail individual names or districts.

Crypto-backed political spending has grown in step with the group’s ambitions. During the 2024 election cycle, organizations and PACs funded by crypto companies spent more than $170 million supporting candidates they viewed as industry-friendly. Many of those candidates won. SWC claims more than 270 pro-crypto candidates were sent to Congress in 2025.

What the group is arguing

Mason Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, framed the endorsements as a turning point for crypto as a voting bloc.

“Crypto Voters have become a durable, motivated voting bloc, which has the potential to swing key congressional races in the midterms,” Lynaugh said.

He added that candidates from both parties are reaching beyond traditional constituencies, and that “they overlook Crypto Voters at their own peril.”

In practice, that means SWC is treating its supporter base as a turnout operation. Not just a donor network.

The CLARITY clock

The endorsement push arrives as the industry’s central legislative vehicle moves slowly through the Senate. The House passed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, known as CLARITY, with bipartisan support in July 2025. A cloture motion is scheduled for when the Senate returns from recess on Sept. 15.

The timeline is tight. The Senate will have only 14 days in session before breaking ahead of the November election. After the midterms, it would have another 22 days before 2027 to return the bill to the House. From there, it could head to the president’s desk.

Last week, President Donald Trump stood alongside several crypto chief executives and urged the Senate to pass a “fair version” of CLARITY. The Trump family’s own financial ties to the industry could complicate a vote. A recent poll found a majority of Americans considered the crypto investments not appropriate.

What is not known

The announcement did not include the full list of endorsed incumbents. It also did not provide a party breakdown beyond the initial six. The relationship between Stand With Crypto and Fairshake, the other major crypto-aligned PAC, was not addressed.

CoinDesk and The Block reported on the endorsements on the same day. Those pages were not accessible for independent corroboration of the candidate list or any additional figures.

Hi, I'm Mark. My journey into the blockchain industry began on the investment side, where I worked as a developer in charge of DeFi operations for a digital asset-focused firm, eventually becoming a partner. I transitioned from the financial side of crypto to the deep technical trenches as a Solidity developer, a central limit order book built on the Avalanche blockchain. That hands-on experience building decentralized applications gave me a rigorous understanding of the challenges developers face when working with distributed ledger technology. Currently, I work as a Technical Writer at CoinWatchDaily, where I focus on bridging the gap between complex low-level code and accessible developer education.
